2017 marked the beginning of a new direction for Saskatoon Public Library (SPL), and we could not be more excited to embark on this next chapter for our organization and community.

While libraries were once valued mainly for providing access to information and reading material, their role in today’s world has changed significantly. In addition to an impressive collection of books, today’s best libraries provide patrons with access to an array of digital services, cutting-edge technology and programs that are tailored to—and informed by—the communities they serve. They are facilities that prioritize inclusivity and accessibility, making them community hubs and vibrant people places.

The work we are doing today is intended to help SPL prepare for the future and ensure we can meet and respond to community needs that are evolving at unprecedented rates. As we build on our past and plan for the future, we look forward to working for and alongside you in helping strengthen our city.
